A Valley native, Blake began his acting career at California State University, Fresno, and went on to perform on some of the world’s most prestigious platforms. He now brings years of professional experience back to the community that shaped him. As Artistic Director, Blake looks forward to the cultural impact Chanticleer Shakespeare Co. will have on Fresno, and the greater Valley community.
As an actor, Blake has performed in productions at Cal Shakes (Berkeley), The Shakespeare Theatre Co. (Washington DC), Berkeley Rep, Laguna Playhouse, 59E59 (Off-Broadway), Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, St. Louis Rep, San Jose Rep, and The Royal Shakespeare Co. (England). He also recently starred alongside Toni Collette and Merritt Wever in Netflix’ Unbelievable, which was nominated for a Golden Globe (2020).
As a writer/producer, Blake has co-written award-winning screenplays and provided story consultation to clients from across the globe. He's developed creative pitches for HBO, Netflix, Concourse Media, Capstone/Intercut, and others. His love for Shakespeare has brought him back to Fresno, with the goal of creating a new and engaging way to bring the magic of the Bard's work to this community.
